We?re looking for an Artisan Baker to join our small team and help us shape the future of our Bakery Café. We are opening in the Gold Coast?s most current, cool and vibrant cafe district created by some passionate foodies who love good bread and good coffee
You'll work alongside a seasoned team, reshaping the Gold Coast's bread expectations. We work hard, sweat the details and celebrate our progress with ciders on Fridays.
Our Bakery Cafe will be the flagship venue for wood fired bread and a delightful eating and coffee experience. We've taken a fresh approach to a cafe eating experience with the Bakery Cafe set in a historic residence with an Alan Scott Wood fire oven, surrounded by beautiful rustic gardens yet only two blocks back from the beach... think ?The Grounds of Alexandria? vibe.

Is this you?
You're passionate about creating beautiful and delicious sourdough breads. You have experience with wood fired ovens (Alan Scott preferred) and this is reflected through your work. You lose sleep over thin bread crust, and get giddy when you see the perfect loaf. Ideally, you've worked in a wood fired bakery before and can proudly point us the right direction. You've baked in both a commercial and artisan bakery and know the constraints and opportunities they offer. You live and breathe bread but find value in life beyond the oven. You're at home working with a small team in a fast-paced environment. You're bread-curious, constantly experimenting. You care about your bread. You're excited about learning new things every day. You're just as excited about helping others to learn new things too. You have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills. You're comfortable working in front of people. You can shift priorities quickly, while maintaining a high degree of organisation and control. Your work space is immaculate and you present well. You think flour is exciting and you're ready to work in a high energy food startup that has tremendous ambition.
